The Meatspace Times

Well OK the shells themselves may or may not be live, but they are attached to living organisms so maybe that counts.

I would not have thought that a driveway on Washington Street just down from the 7-11 would be prime turtle country, but there was this guy one morning a couple of weeks ago as I was walking. S/he was headed towards the sidewalk. I was going to pick him/her up and do a little relocation into the grass, but s/he headed off like a turtle out of hell when I approached. Bonne chance, buddy, you've been a turtle longer than I have so perhaps you know what you're doing.


The snails were in a rock wall going up the hill. Moved at a snail's pace for as long as I had the patience to watch, which admittedly wasn't long.
